The graduate program provides advanced training in Slavic literature and linguistics leading to the MA and PhD degrees in Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Languages and Cultures. The primary task of the department faculty is to develop and refine the critical and analytic skills of its students in preparation for productive careers in college teaching and research in the Slavic field. Alternative careers include language teaching, business, translation, interpreting, librarianship, and government service.
