Russian Language Minor

To enter the Russian Language minor, students must have an overall grade-point average of 2.0 or better.


Required Lower Division Courses – 9 to 17 units (both items below):

  1. Russian 6 or 20 or equivalent proficiency
  2. One course from 25, 25W, 90A, 90B, or 90BW

 

Required Upper Division Courses (20 to 23 units):

Students select one of the following three tracks:

  1. Russian 101A, 101B, 101C and two additional Russian language or literature courses
  2. Russian 100A, 100B, 100C and two additional Russian language or literature courses
  3. Five Russian language and literature courses selected from Russian 102A, 102B, 102C, 103A, 103B, 103C, 107A, 107B, 107C, 130A, 130B, 130C, 140A through 140D, with a minimum of three courses in Russian language


Students may petition to substitute courses after consulting with the undergraduate adviser.


A minimum of 20 units applied toward the minor requirements must be in addition to units applied toward major requirements or another minor.


Each minor course must be taken for a letter grade, and students must have an overall grade-point average of 2.0 or better. Successful completion of the minor is indicated on the transcript and diploma.
