In our Portuguese Program, we offer a full range of courses in Brazilian Portuguese: Elementary (1-2), Intermediate (3), Advanced (25), Language and Popular Culture (26), Writing Studies: Afro-Luso-Brazilian World (27) and a two-course intensive sequence (11A and 11B) for speakers who are proficient in another romance language. Our student-centered, proficiency-oriented courses are designed to help students achieve communicative competence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as cultural competence and knowledge of the Lusophone world.  All courses are taught in Portuguese.
